Gregory Laird photographs wildlife from Montana’s Paradise Valley and the Yellowstone northern range.
These first months have been built on return: revisiting crossings, watching the weather change, and staying with the same behavior across more than one morning. The photographs favor action and atmosphere over clean portraiture—dust, water, silhouettes and the brief shape an animal makes inside its landscape.
He works from a distance, keeps sensitive locations broad, and strips location data from every image published here.
Exact den, nest, roost and encounter locations are not published. The welfare of the animal takes precedence over a frame.
